Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 31 August 2026
These terms cover your use of onlineringsize.com. The most important one is section 4: this is a measuring aid, not a guarantee that a particular ring will fit.
1. Agreement to these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site. They apply to everyone who visits, and no account or signature is involved.
2. What the service is
Online Ring Size provides a free ring size calculator, conversion charts covering the major national sizing standards, a printable ring sizer, and written guides on measuring ring size. Everything is free to use, with no account and no payment; the site is funded by advertising and affiliate commission instead, which section 7 covers.
3. Permitted use
You may:
- use the tool and charts for personal and commercial purposes;
- print the printable ring sizer and the charts for your own use or for use in your shop or workshop;
- link to any page on the site.
You may not:
- copy substantial parts of the written guides, page copy or design and republish them as your own;
- scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for other people, or attempt to interfere with, overload or gain unauthorised access to it;
- present the tool as your own product, or remove attribution where it is displayed;
- use the site for anything unlawful.
4. Accuracy, and the limits of it
This is the section that matters. The sizes this site produces areestimates. We work hard on them — every size is derived from the relevant published standard rather than copied from a table, and every result is shown with a stated accuracy range — but an on-screen measurement has physical limits that no software removes.
The result depends on things we cannot see or control: how accurately you calibrated your screen, whether you held the reference object flat, your screen’s condition and curvature, browser zoom, the time of day, the temperature of your hands, the width and interior profile of the ring you eventually buy, and the tolerances of the workshop that makes it. Ring sizes also differ between your two hands and between fingers on the same hand.
So: use this as guidance, not as a guarantee. For an expensive ring, a ring that cannot be resized, or a ring that cannot be returned, have the finger measured on a steel mandrel by a jeweller before ordering. We say this throughout the site because we mean it, not to cover ourselves.
5. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on a size it produced — including the cost of a ring that does not fit, resizing charges, return postage, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities, so parts of the two sections above may not apply to you; your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
7. Third-party links, advertising and affiliate links
Status, as of 31 August 2026: no ad slots and no affiliate links are live on the site yet. As with the privacy policy, this section is published ahead of them, so that it is already accurate on the day the first one appears.
Some pages link to other websites, the contact form is delivered through a third-party form relay, and the site carries advertising. We don’t control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. What the contact form, the analytics tag and the advertising and affiliate cookies each collect — and how to switch them off — is set out in the privacy policy.
Advertising. Ads are selected and served by Google, not chosen by us. We do not review, endorse or vouch for what appears in an ad slot, and an ad appearing on a page here is not a recommendation. Anything you buy from an advertiser is a contract between you and that advertiser; a complaint about an ad or an advertiser goes to them, or to Google.
Affiliate links. Some links to jewellers and retailers carry a tracking code, and if you buy something after following one we receive a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing — the price is the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly. We are not the seller: the product, the price, delivery, returns and any warranty are the retailer’s, and your contract for a purchase is with them and not with us. Section 6 applies to anything bought through such a link exactly as it does to a size the tool produced.
What none of it buys. No advertiser and no affiliate partner has any influence over the sizes, charts, conversions or recommendations on this site. Every size is computed from the published standard, and we will not change a number, a confidence range or a recommendation because someone pays us.
8. Intellectual property
The written guides, page copy, layout, design and code of this site belong to Online Ring Size. The sizing standards themselves — ISO 8653, JIS S 4700, NBR 16058, the US trade scale, the British Wheatsheaf letter scale and the rest — are the work of their respective standards bodies and are referenced here as facts, not claimed as ours. Names of countries, currencies and standards are used descriptively.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms go through the contact form.
